How to Be More Purpose-Driven in Your Business

How to Be More Purpose-Driven in Your Business

When you have a business driven by purpose, you are motivated to show up, be seen and shine by something that comes from within you. It’s emotional. It’s from the heart. It’s the essence and expression of what truly matters to you. What matters to you so much about the field you are in and the work that you do? What matters to you so much about the people you serve and the services you provide?

Here are a few ways you can start:

  1. Define what success means to you. What does it look like? What does it feel like? We all have different definitions of success and what it means to be successful. Depending on your definition of success, you may be closer to it than you think, and it may be significantly different from what you previously believed. (And speaking of beliefs, consider the definitions of success that have been handed down or taught to you. Are they representative of what you truly want?)
  2. Think about the value that you’re providing, outside of the services you are offering. Businesses that want to last the long haul not only create and deliver valuable offerings, they create and deliver value through everything that they do. Everything they say and do in and for their business demonstrates value. This has been called many things in the industry. It’s been known as relationship building, the “like, know and trust factor,” thought leadership, etc. However, it all comes down to one common idea: providing value in service of and for the betterment of others.
  3. Enroll in The L.I.F.E. Method mini course. (Bonus: It’s free!) The L.I.F.E. Method helps you identify your desired lifestyle, your desired identity, your desired feelings and your desired expression. When you do the method from a personal and professional standpoint, you’ll gain the knowledge and clarity that informs everything from your next steps to your big-picture vision.

How can you be more purpose-driven in your approach to business building?

3 Ways to Achieve Aligned Productivity

3 Ways to Achieve Aligned Productivity

The best type of productivity is aligned productivity.

It’s the kind that isn’t keeping you busy just to be busy. It’s the kind of productivity that feels good, that inspires you, that doesn’t burn you out. Here are my top 3 tips for achieving this type of aligned productivity:

  1. Tune into your nature. This is essentially training you to tune into your body and mind more. As women, we are not designed to exert the same amount of energy day after day like men. By tuning into our natural cycles, we can get better acquainted with our energy levels as they fluctuate every month. It’s called cycle syncing and you’re basically synchronizing your cycle to your output of energy, because each phase of your cycle requires different needs and behaviors.
  2. Prioritize your needs. This means that you are reacting to your needs, any of them, as you are being productive. If you feel like you need to rest, you rest. If you feel like you need to burn some energy on a run, go for a run. If you feel like you need to write, then write. This is about prioritizing your needs and allowing whatever you need to be considered being productive, because it is. You’re literally nourishing yourself the way that your body needs you to.Productive doesn’t mean being go, go, go all the time. Stillness is productive too.
  3. Get hyper intentional about the elements of your life that you can control. And this is where The LIFE Method comes in. Within the LIFE method, you identify your desired lifestyle, your desired identity, your desired feelings and your desired expression. It’s an acronym. These are the elements of life that you can control. When I regularly do the method from both a personal and professional standpoint, I come away with knowledge that informs my next steps, my next tasks, my daily schedule, things I need to be aware of, things I need to let go of, things I need to focus on, decisions I need to make. And these are all coming from a place of empowerment and alignment because I’m tapping into my desires. I’m not coming from a place of fear and lack and uncertainty, because when you make choices based on fear and lack and uncertainty you will most likely sustain that fear and lack and uncertainty.

How can you ensure that your productivity is truly aligned?

Soul-Power Up Your Business - Step 1 Your Mission

Soul-Power Up Your Business – Step 1: Your Mission

The Soul-Power Up Your Business Series starts today with the drop of the first video all about defining your mission.

I talk about your Soul-Power A LOT, and so my goal for the remainder of this year is to get you all better acquainted with what it means, how it impacts your business, and why you want to discover yours.

A soul-power is kind of like a superpower. It’s your “thing,” your secret sauce, the stuff that makes you, you. It’s what lights you up, what inspires you, and what motivates you to persevere.

I’ve simplified the meaning of soul-power as it relates to your business as three elements: your mission, your method, and your message. You need all of these in order to create a meaningful and profitable business.

You see, each of these three elements essentially encompasses what your calling, and therefore your business, is all about. In order to have a business, you need to have a worthy mission, a unique, one-of-a-kind method, and a clear and consistent message in order to serve. These three pieces are the most meaningful part of your business because they direct your intentions, your approach, and your communication.

Over the course of October, November and December, I will be sharing a short pre-recorded video about each of these elements (your mission, method and message), accompanied with questions to help you clarify each element each following week.

This week, I will release the first of three to help you define your mission.

How to Redefine Your Approach to Marketing

How to Redefine Your Approach to Marketing

Here’s the thing that bothers business owners when they think about marketing themselves… (I know, because it bothered me too.)

The type of marketing that many agencies and consultants teach is one that has been handed down and learned from corporations, which is very data-driven and results-based and not always done ethically.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with being data-driven and results-based. In fact, data can be incredibly valuable and obviously results are what we all want.

But there’s a human factor centered around what makes us relatable that is easy to forget, which is why there is a deep need for connection and authenticity.

The standard idea of marketing can unfortunately be seen as intimidating and gross.

When I say, “show up, be seen, and shine,” I simplify and modernize the approach to marketing so that instead of feeling like you’re making a sale, what you’re really doing is making an invitation.

That’s literally what marketing is – showing up and being seen and shining. When you shine your light, you light up another. It’s infused with more heart this way.

How can you redefine your approach to marketing?

Craving truth? Start with Who You Are and What You Want

Craving truth? Start with Who You Are and What You Want

Isn’t that the truth?!

Now more than ever, it’s hard to decipher between fact and fiction, truth and lies, disinformation and information.

And I’m not just referencing what’s going on in the world – I’m talking about what’s going on in our own journeys too, entrepreneurial or otherwise.

Perhaps the best thing we can do in times of confusion and noise is to shift our focus from what’s happening around us to what’s happening within.

There is an inner knowing within you that is just waiting for you to let it guide you.

I’ve made my biggest progress, both personally and professionally, when I’ve let my inner guidance take the lead. When I’m facing a decision, or a challenge, or even next steps, consulting with myself first, and then moving in faith towards what feels inspired, has never failed me.

If this sounds complicated to you, or even too magical and mystical, The L.I.F.E. Method takes a foundational approach to helping you design your life and business with intention by helping you clarify your desires (aka – the language of your soul) in all areas where you have the ability and the free will to do so.

How Embracing Uncertainty Can Help You Succeed

Embracing uncertainty doesn’t mean that you can’t make plans, or create a strategy, or envision a dream outcome. It simply means that what we make, create and envision is set within an atmosphere of unpredictability.

When you allow yourself to embrace uncertainty, you welcome success. You’re making yourself comfortable with the innate discomfort of risk taking. As an entrepreneur, you are taking a risk by choosing to believe in your abilities to provide for yourselves and your family. The first question I want you to ask is this: How has the fear of the unknown stopped you from taking certain actions? And on the flipside, how can you completely give up the security of the known?

In this video, we talked about:

  • Why embracing uncertainty is such a major part of my life right now,
  • 3 ways to practice embracing uncertainty, and
  • What I’ve got in store for you (only in the group!) over the next few months.

How Do You Embrace Uncertainty?

One of my biggest challenges in my growth in every role I have as a wife, mom, business owner, individual, etc., has been releasing control (aka embrace uncertainty) – of outcomes, circumstances and plans.

Long ago, I’d get confused when people would tell me to embrace the uncertainty of life. It didn’t make sense to me. I thought they were the foolish ones, and boy, was I wrong.

Eventually it would start to make sense… that the hope of creating certainty in my life was an illusion, and it was only making life more stressful, worrisome and difficult.

Embracing uncertainty doesn’t mean that you can’t make plans, or create a strategy, or envision a dream outcome. It simply means that what we make, create and envision is set within an atmosphere of unpredictability.

Perhaps embracing uncertainty looks like waiting for inspiration to strike.

Maybe embracing uncertainty looks like being more present, rather than being in the past or future.

It may be that embracing uncertainty looks like engaging more with what truly matters – yourself and your loved ones.

How do you embrace uncertainty? Or, how can you?

In my last and final live training of the year in my private group on Facebook, I’m going to share ways in which you can embrace uncertainty and ALSO share why doing so actually leads to successful outcomes more often than not.

If you’re in the group, you’ll get access to my upcoming 3-part Soul-Powered video series that I will drop at the beginning of every month through October, November and December, with corresponding reflective questions to be dropped every week thereafter.

The video series includes clips related to one of my most popular modules in my signature program, so you won’t want to miss out!

Grow with the Flow

Grow with the Flow

Grow with the flow. That is my mantra for the month of September.

As we all know, with every new season comes a new flow. Typically September offers plenty of “back to school, back to basics, back to the routine” vibes. But for me, in this season of my life and business, my vibe is all about the flow.

Over the past few weeks, I have been in major nesting mode. For anyone new around here, my family is expecting our second baby boy in just a few weeks. And so, I have not only been preparing for the arrival of our little boy, but also organizing and redesigning every area of our home to create more space for rest, play, creativity, and growth for everyone.

And now that I’m only a few weeks away from my due date, I began to also strategize content ideas for my business. This was my way of planning ahead so that I can still show up for my communities. But then I realized…

That’s not real. That’s not how I really want to show up. And as I say: If it doesn’t align, it’s not worth the time.

Honestly, I whole-heartedly believe that my greatest contribution to your business growth and evolution will be the real, true, authentic moment-to-moment voice I share as I live, grow and evolve during this season of my life and business.

That voice sounds like something to look forward to. And it feels so good to think about.

What would happen if you consciously shared more relevant, real-time content that reflected your life and business journey?

Here’s one way to accomplish this: Set up a time to journal what you are moving through either at the start or the end of the day, without the intention of sharing it. Soak it in, and then decide if and what can be shared in the most relevant, compassionate and authentic way.
