I’m writing and recording this episode during the week of July 20. There are a lot of collective shifts underway and I can feel the energy building. I’m personally moving through a portal myself, and while I normally share what I’m moving through as I’m moving through it, this one feels sacred. So, I’m going to update you all on what this week has uncovered for me in the next episode.
For this episode, I want to dive a little deeper into the pressure of The Holding Pattern and how it shifts as you’re nearing Convergence. Now, just as a reminder, The Holding Pattern follows completion of both the methods of Expression and the methods of Containment, up to The H.O.L.D. Method. Convergence happens the moment your external reality catches up to your internal orientation. Because you’ve spent the last several days, weeks and months oriented toward what is true for you and stabilized within your signal, you get to a point where you reach the end of your capacity in terms of what you are no longer willing to tolerate externally. Reality has no choice but to match you now.
This part of the process involves a tremendous amount of pressure, and if you’ve been listening to my episodes for quite some time, you know that the gap that you perceive is only because of the internal coherence you have established within yourself. You aren’t able to perceive the gap without it. You know what is true for you and you won’t negotiate with it. This is why there is so much pressure – because of the tension between who you are and what you currently see in your reality.
The pressure has a purpose though, and in the last few episodes, I’ve talked about the capacities you build within this phase. You need to be able to hold the reality that reflects what is true for you, and the pressure builds you into the person who can hold it. You can’t skip this step, unfortunately, and it must be lived, not just intellectually understood.
The good news is, the pressure changes. And today, I want to talk about those shifts.
Part 1: Stage 1: From Danger to Openness
During The Holding Pattern, you are becoming internally oriented, while the world around you remains externally oriented. This internal orientation still carries the same sensation of pressure.
The pressure is different though, because it’s no longer the same signal wearing the same name. Before, pressure meant something outside you needs resolving and it’s routed through your body as urgency – that’s why it used to call for movement, any movement, fast enough to make the discomfort stop. That pressure was borrowed. It belonged to the environment and you were just the instrument it discharged through.
What you might begin to feel closer to Convergence is charge without a discharge circuit. Instead of sounding like: “something needs to be resolved,” it sounds like: “something true hasn’t arrived yet.” That’s not tension seeking release, it’s readiness with nowhere to go. The chest sensation I described in the last episode – like having too much caffeine but just in my chest area – is consistent with this: activation that isn’t attached to a story or an outside demand, just voltage.
Earlier in my life, that sensation meant: “Something’s wrong.” Now it’s more like: “Something is gathering.” The sensation didn’t disappear. Its meaning changed. And once the meaning changes…your behavior changes toward it.
So my body learned “pressure” as one category for years, and it’s now encountering a second thing that shares the physical signature but not the source. Old pressure said “move to make this stop.” This pressure says “stay open, it isn’t here yet.”
Pressure was once interpreted as an alarm. Its entire purpose was to eliminate the sensation.
Now, pressure isn’t an alarm anymore. It’s information. Or maybe even more specifically… It’s containment. The pressure no longer tells you what to do. It tells you how to be. That’s a completely different operating system.
It’s the same nervous system vocabulary, but the opposite instruction. Physiologically, the sensations overlap. Tight chest. Activation. Heightened awareness. Energy. But the interpretation has changed. The old interpretation was: Danger → Escape. The new interpretation is: Potential → Stay available. That’s enormous. Because your nervous system isn’t necessarily becoming less activated. It’s becoming more coherent in how it interprets activation.
The old pressure demanded resolution. The new pressure invites receptivity. It stops functioning as a command to act and starts functioning as a reminder to remain coherent.
Part 2: Stage 2: From Openness to Source Origin
When your coherence becomes independent of your environment, external reality loses its power to make you move from urgency. It can turn the pressure up to maximum, it can create high-stakes constraints, it can scream through the voice of your ego, but it can no longer force a reaction out of you.
Here’s the exact architecture of a self-authored life:
- The Mechanism: Discernment. The razor-sharp ability to tell the difference between an ego panic trying to escape discomfort and a clean, quiet directive from your core.
- The Texture: Restraint. The capacity to hold a high-voltage current without leaking it into a manufactured movement. This is what we talked about in the last episode. The ability to maintain the coherence of what you know to be true through restraint.
- The Virtue: Fidelity to Truth. The unwavering allegiance to what is authentic, even when it is wildly uncomfortable, inconvenient, or directly defies what the outside world is demanding of you.
At the end of the last episode, I said: “Whatever comes next isn’t built on reaction anymore. It’s built on me.”
That shift changes the entire game. Reaction is weak; it’s a closed loop that keeps you tied to the frequency of whatever is triggering you. But a life built on you – on your independent coherence – is inherently generative. When you finally do get the hit to move, you will not be moving to fix a problem or escape a feeling. You will be moving to project your truth into the world.
Reactive momentum scatters, because it’s answering to however many pressures are present at once – someone’s discomfort, an obligation, a “should,” a deadline, a fear of disappointing another. Each of those is a separate, independent variable, and they don’t agree with each other. That’s why reactive lives often look busy but directionless: a lot of motion, no throughline, because there was never one target but rather multiple targets shifting week to week.
Fidelity to what’s true collapses that down to a single check: is this the thing that’s actually arrived, or am I manufacturing movement? One question, one answer, applied consistently across every decision. That’s what makes aim possible – aim requires a fixed point to aim at. You can’t aim at a shifting average of other people’s pressures. You can aim at “what is true,” because even though its content changes moment to moment, the criterion doesn’t. The gun doesn’t move; only the target you’re currently sighting on it does.
This is what it looks like to become momentum. You don’t become the thing; you become the origin point.
Momentum sourced from an independent coherence doesn’t need the environment’s permission to continue; it just needs to stay true, which is a condition only you can meet or fail.
Part 3: Stage 3: From Source Origin to Convergence with Source
This is what I’ve recently moved through, and while I want to touch on it in this episode, I want to focus on how it relates to pressure specifically. I will talk more about this stage next week. In a word, it is sacred.
When you anchor yourself as the independent origin point of your life, you eventually reach the absolute limit of what human willpower and somatic restraint can do. You hit a wall where you have held the voltage, refused to compromise, felt the clean signal of truth, and yet, the external door remains closed.
This is the most volatile point in the entire holding pattern, because it is the exact moment the ego screams the loudest to reclaim control. It wants to tell you that your signal is broken, that you are entirely alone, and that you need to manufacture fast, frantic movement to save yourself.
But if you stay still, a final, holy shift occurs. You cross a threshold where the pressure doesn’t burst you; it dissolves. And it dissolves because you realize you were never meant to carry the weight of the manifestation by yourself.
This is the stage of The Hand-Off. It is the true meaning of Convergence: the moment where your internal source merges with Divine Source. And that can be whatever you believe in: God, The Universe, Source, Love – whatever you believe in that is larger than you.
To give you a real-time map of what this looked like for me this week: I have been living the raw edge of this architecture. As I mentioned, I will dive into this more deeply next week, but for the time being, know that “giving it to God” is a very real experience and an unforgettable sensation.
And you may be wondering: “Why couldn’t you have surrendered six months ago?”
The answer: I couldn’t hand off what I hadn’t fully carried.
The restraint I talked about in the last episode wasn’t a prerequisite because God wanted me to suffer. It was the process through which my signal became undeniable.
Only once there was nothing left to refine could I genuinely release responsibility for the manifestation itself. That’s different from spiritual bypassing. It’s surrender after full participation. And the Soul’d trajectory requires your absolute participation. You can’t move through it without it. In fact, you never stop participating – from the expression I built through The Marketing Methods and the containment I built through The Manifesting Methods to holding that signal steady in The Holding Pattern. That is full participation. Surrender before participation is resignation. Surrender after full participation is trust. And the moment that happened, the pressure released.
And then the hand-off happened. It’s not giving up. It’s not hoping. It’s not waiting. It’s the moment I finally recognized the boundary between my stewardship and God’s stewardship.
The pressure that was there all along in The Holding Pattern dissipates the exact moment you realize you are not alone in the dark. You are in a partnership. Your job is to stabilize the signal and hold the standard of what you will tolerate. The Divine’s job is the execution.
When you make the hand-off, you are no longer trying to create momentum through sheer human effort. You have surrendered to the greater current that is already moving you. You aren’t fighting reality anymore, and you aren’t waiting for it either. You are simply resting in the absolute certainty that what is true for you cannot bypass you.
