As business owners, we naturally let our skills speak for themselves. After all, we have particular gifts that we were born with, that come so naturally to us, that we are guided in using them to serve others. Our skills can often speak for themselves, whether we heal others, help them transform, or guide them to achieve greatness. It is through our skills that results can be experienced by those we are serving.
However, our skills alone can only express so much of our work. What we do is only part of the overall purpose for why we are here. There’s another part that is much deeper and that truly allows our skills to shine. This part is our voice, and our ideas, about what we do. Our voice is the anchor to our work.
What matters to you about what you do here? When you discover what you really have to say, and what you really want to express to the world, it transforms your work. This goes beyond your modality or broad healing concepts or the overarching benefits of treatments. It removes any struggle or confusion about your work. This is where you put a stake in the sand and make your claim about what matters to you about what you do. This is where you get clear on the problem that you want to solve and the reason it matters so much to you.
There is something that you care about in this life, somewhere that you want to make a difference. It could be something you want to fix or change or create impact around. You have a very specific opinion deep within you is expressed through your skills but now needs to be expressed through your voice. However, believe it or not, the anchor is often buried under all kinds of fear and doubt.
I can tell you right now, as I’m writing and recording this right now, I can feel the resistance to this notion. Maybe you believe that there isn’t room for your voice out there. Maybe you fear rejection and resistance to your ideas by others. Maybe you are used to living in the shadows that you forgot what matters to you in the first place.
But it’s there. Trust me. I’ve been in your shoes. For so many years, whether it was for my own self-preservation or fear of criticism or just a lot of external expectations, I truly believed that my ideas didn’t matter. Everything that I was saying and teaching and demonstrating had been said and taught and demonstrated by others. And because this was a strong belief of mine, I looked for and found confirmation of this throughout my entire life. Why should I have any ideas when they have all already been spoken into existence?
It wasn’t until I realigned with my highest self and asked for guidance and acted in accordance with my intuitive knowledge that things began to change. I realized that I have original ideas, and they’re important to me. What do my original ideas entail? Well, for starters, I believe that we all have the capacity to build our own lives based on our desires. I believe we can connect and align with our truest selves at any time. I believe the soul can lead us in life and in business. I believe that creativity is an often untapped and unappreciated superpower within all of us. I believe that the unique qualities within you are perfectly aligned to get you to where you want to go; you just have to trust and believe in yourself. I believe that I am here to help you connect to your soul-powered path. Those are a few of my main ideas. They may be polarizing to many, and yet they are so, so true to me.
Identifying this can be a process, but what we want to do is uncover what we believe. We begin by uncovering what is holding us back from our voice, and then when we are aware of it, we work to overcome it. For me, a large part of my process involved trusting myself – my intuition, my mind, my heart – and then creating from a place of trust. I had to regularly ignite the spark that was within me about my work. Once it was lit, I had to let the flame light up my path. And I had to trust that path fully and completely.
What will you choose? Can you believe in yourself? Your voice? Your truth?
