I started getting into manifesting around the time that I started my business in 2013. This was also the time I started to meditate more and try all of the new wellness trends and tactics that my clients were always talking about. I somewhat fell into the industry of New Age spirituality and healing and wellness. I thought I was becoming so enlightened, but wow, that was just the tip of the iceberg.
Over the course of the next several years, I got married, pushed out two baby boys, and then got divorced. I faced hardships in my business, financial distress, and a complete identity crisis more times than I can count. I’ve gone through hundreds of dark nights of the soul… all to grow and evolve and be more true. I’ve put my ego in check more times than I can count. Because the version of me who was hiding from truths, who was holding me back, who was driving my life, was rooted in my ego.
Fast forward to now, 12 years after launching my business, I’ve created a movement called Soul’d of soul-aligned business owners who are marketing and manifesting with nothing but the essence that is them. I’ve created methods that help soulpreneurs return to their own knowing and work with nothing but the essence that is them. Why? Because when your essence is at the forefront of everything you do, you’re not only more real, relatable and rooted in the way you show up in the world, you are also broadcasting your highest frequency.
Your essence is your highest frequency, your unique universal signal and your energetic signature. It is your internal compass, your higher self, and has a wealth of information that you may not be tapping into if you have the feeling that you are holding back, or like you are capable of so much more, or as if you’re playing small in this game of life and not fully as the soulpreneur you were always meant to be.
The ego needs to take a backseat in order to achieve this though.
But why don’t we tap into our essence to begin with? Why is our ego taking the lead? Well, welcome to Earth School where we are pulled as far away from our internal knowing as much as possible, where we are dealt circumstances, challenges, confusion and chaos that makes us question ourselves, and where others have gone before us and therefore apparently know the only way forward. Welcome to the place where we are born and raised to survive, not thrive.
Our egos know how to survive based on centuries of our evolution. We don’t know how to fully thrive. It’s not something we are taught. And this is because it’s something we remember. We remember our divinity. We remember our light. And for soulpreneurs – those of us who have decided to take the path of spiritual growth and evolution – we can remember this a lot quicker than most. We understand the value of the journey of becoming who truly are, our authentic selves.
When you take your true path, your soul path, your most authentic path forward – it doesn’t necessarily make the path easier, but it makes it so that you become the truest version of yourself, the self-actualized version of yourself, the one who has integrated with their higher self and is now living as that. Yes, this path is scary and uncertain and has its own challenges that come up for our own growth and evolution, but what could be more safer than taking the path that was always meant for you to begin with? Why would you want to take any other?
You are given a specific blueprint. This blueprint is a map towards your highest alignment, your highest self. Many, if not most of us, are not able to go down that path, let alone scratch the surface of what it takes to go down that path, but those of us who do fully understand the reward. Because, the reward is authenticity – an integration of your highest self, your full expression of your soul, a lifetime of experiencing heaven on Earth.
Because guess what your essence understands that your ego has a hard time accessing? Unconditional love. Your essence understands and embodies and embraces the concept of unconditional love. This isn’t something you learn; it’s something you know. It’s something you remember. When we’re working with the essence that is us to market and manifest our businesses, we are committing ourselves to our higher purpose, alongside a higher power, in the frequency of unconditional love.
What I’ve just explained gives a hint as to why manifesting is considered hard. At the root of it, it’s because all of the manifesting programs out there essentially ask you to fake it til you make it. Everyone is still rooted in their egos when they’re manifesting. Nobody is manifesting from their essence. Because it takes work to get there. The inner transformation is required before the outer transformation reveals itself.
They’ll ask you to be more of this and do more of this and believe more in this. I’m talking about the manifesting gurus who ask you to set 50 alarms on your phone to trick yourself into believing that you’re making a sale. I’m talking about the ones that give you a list of 100 affirmations that you don’t really believe. I’m talking about the ones that ask you to pretend to be someone you’re not or have something you don’t. I’m talking about the ones who tell you that you need to believe in one true God, their religious version of God, in order to be worthy of manifesting the life you want. This is why manifesting is hard – because it feels inauthentic to us. It doesn’t feel right and it doesn’t feel true. Our egos are still running the show and can get in our way of truly calling in what is meant for us. The only thing that is true and will ever be true is your essence.
One of the foundational principles of my methods is self-discovery through the shedding of everything you are not, including what built up your ego, and especially that can bring it down. Everything that life, parents, authority figures, your culture, your social circles, your wallet, your bank accounts – everything that all of these things and people told you or showed you about yourself is false. The only person, the only thing, that can decide who you are is you. Your essence cannot be determined by anyone else. Not only can it not be taken from you, it can’t even be validated for you. When you’re using nothing but the essence that is you to build your life and business, that is true mastery of self.
Now that you understand why manifesting is so hard and why your essence makes it’s easier, let’s talk about 5 mindset shifts that will make manifesting easier. We’ve touched on a few of things, but let’s dive in to each one.
Mindset Shift 1: You’re not figuring it out. You’re remembering.
Every time we say “I don’t know,” or “I need to figure it out,” we aren’t acknowledging what we already know. Our essence gives us our marketing message. It gives us our marketing strategy. It gives us our next steps. It gives us the big picture. It calls in what we require. It allows us to be divinely resourced when we are holding the frequency of it, of our authenticity. And when we truly don’t know, we know how to surrender. Say this instead, “I’m remembering now.”
Mindset Shift 2: Everything you see in your reality is what you’re writing into it.
If everything is an illusion, if the game of life really is a game, who would you be in it? How would you move? What would you focus on? How would you build up the storyline. You are the main character of your life. Is he or she living out the life you want them to? You get to be in control of the narrative. Make it a story that matters. Use the stories that you already have available to you as your launching pads. Use your skillset, your gifts, your network, your resources, as tokens that you can steward for a more expansive, more true life.
Mindset Shift 3: Money is a mirror, not your master.
In The Manifesting Methods, which I also call The Money Methods, I provide a series of methods that allow you to dive into your current relationship with money and all of the ways that money owns you. Money can be such an ego thing… it’s either used to feed our egos or flex our egos, but it should really fix our egos! When you create a sacred relationship with money and steward it in integrity with your higher purpose and your higher self, you see a clearer version of yourself – a version of you as the soulpreneur you were always meant to be. Money is no longer your master, but your mirror, and will reflect back your truest, most expansive self.
Mindset Shift 4: The Universe doesn’t respond to your costume. It responds to your consciousness.
I can’t take credit for that saying, and I have no idea where I heard it, but boy do I love it. The Universe, God, Source, Love – whatever you want to believe in that is a higher power – does not respond to your costume. It responds to your consciousness. In other words, life doesn’t respond to what you want or what you’re trying to get, it responds to who you are. It responds to your posture. It doesn’t care what you do or don’t want. It cares about what you think you deserve, what you are worthy of, what you are ready for.
Mindset Shift 5: You don’t receive what you deserve. You receive what you broadcast.
You’re the signal. You’re the source. If your essence is your highest frequency, your universal signal and your energetic signature, imagine the power that you’re broadcasting into the Universe. Imagine the power you are signaling out into your energetic field. Imagine the impact of your energetic expression at that point. You can’t fake it til you make it. You can’t fake a frequency. You can’t fake your essence. You have to find it. Say out loud, “I am the source of value. I am supported. I know who I am.” What is your ultimate truth. Belief creates value, so start believing in the power of your essence.
Here’s the point: Marketing and manifesting is hard because it’s been rooted in your ego. It gets to be easy when it’s rooted in your essence.
You get two things as a soulpreneur when you are working with the essence that is you. Through The Marketing Methods, you get a truth about your work and why it matters so much to you (aka your greatest and most authentic marketing message). And, through The Manifesting Methods, you get a version of you who can share this message with the world (aka your most expansive self – the version of you who is excited to show up, be seen and shine).
