I made a big switch up in my business, and I want to talk about it.
The 3 parts of Soul’d used to be: messaging, marketing and monetization.
Instead of monetization, I changed it to manifesting.
I want to dive into this because it’s important.
Why did I originally choose the word monetization? Because of The Money Methods. The Money Methods were originally very much about money.
Because manifesting to me was very much about money, as it is to so many people.
Everyone wants to manifest more money. Everyone wants to make more money.
But after living out these methods, one thing is true: it was never about the money.
The money was a natural byproduct. The money didn’t manifest until something else did. And what was that something else?
Me.
I had to uncover and reveal more of myself internally in order to manifest more externally.
I had to unravel and unlearn all of the broken and outdated thought patterns, belief systems and ways of being that kept from attracting my desires in the first place.
Let’s talk about 3 toxic trends in manifesting that are making me a little crazy. These trends are part of the reason why I didn’t want to say the word Manifesting as part of the brand of Soul’d.
The first is that believing in a specific version of God is at the core of what you’re capable of manifesting.
I want to tread carefully here, but know that this is where I tend to get a little heated.
But first, a little about me as it relates to this topic: I was raised Catholic, and I attended a Catholic school from Pre-school through Senior Year of High School. My family growing up – we attended church, but as we grew up, we became more “diet, caffeine free” in regards to the Catholic religion.
Now, back to today, and what I’ve seen in the manifesting world as it relates to God falls in line with the belief that God is still punishing; that obedience is required; that we must be God fearing; that we must read and follow scripture. It all reminds me of that song: Take me to church. I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies. I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife. Offer me that deathless death. Oh, good God, let me give you my life. That’s quite literally what these people are doing. How “good” can we be? How perfect and pure can we be in the presence of God. How can we make sure we’re good enough to go to Heaven? Only God can save us. Do you see how this is just about exiting one matrix and walking straight into another one?
In my opinion, we didn’t come here to ascend and be perfect God-like creatures. We came to Earth to be fully grounded in it and fully live in it, in whatever capacity that looks like. And yes, there’s a level of responsibility that naturally comes from evolving our self-awareness and becoming more rooted in our essence and divinity. But we’re losing ourselves if we’re constantly striving to seek approval from God in order to be worthy of what we desire to manifest, rather than working with God or the Universe or simply divinity itself, to remember our inner truth, our inner essence, our own divine power and co-create from there.
The second toxic trend is a different kind of matrix where we do all of the things in order to improve the energetics of our beingness. At least, I think that’s what’s happening there. I referred to this a bit in the last episode of Soul’d.
I’m talking about setting 5 different alarms on your phone so that you get a notification that you sold something so that you trick yourself into believing you’re making money.
I’m talking about pouring cinnamon in your hand and then blowing it through the front door of your home so that you can bring in more abundance.
I’m talking about all the hundreds of crystals and things that you’re being asked to buy so that you can make manifest something in your life.
Listen, I love crystals. I don’t have a lot, but I do love it when people work with them while they are doing energy work on me. There’s definitely something to be said about crystals. But crystals aren’t necessarily going to build my business themselves.
What I’m saying is, it’s possible to put a lot of pressure on yourself to do these sorts of things and exert a lot of time and effort and money into them and then wonder where your manifestation is when your wish doesn’t come true.
I fully believe that everything is energy. And I fully believe that there’s a massive energetic component here that needs to be addressed. However, there is real practical work that is required for that energetic component.
If there’s one thing that you’ll learn about me it’s that I like to take a soulful approach to things, especially manifestation, but I also like to keep it grounded, because that’s how it lands.
The third toxic trend is almost as though we are manifesting backwards.
We think it’s about creating something with the power of thought and emotion and therefore efforting and faking it in some way in order to bring it to fruition.
Or we think it’s about surrendering and simply being in the energy of our desire, which leads to us simply waiting for something to happen.
Both of these approaches require a certain degree of “becoming.” They require us to become something that we are not so that we can manifest what we want.
But what if we don’t have to actually become anything.
What if we just need to peel away all of the layers and identities and illusions that aren’t us so that we can become more of our original self: which is simply love.
As I moved through The Money Methods, one thing that came up over and over again was an overwhelming feeling of more peace in my inner world while my outer world was crumbling.
I was facing financial distress.
I was divorcing my husband of almost 9 years.
I was the primary caregiver for two young and active boys with social lives.
And my business was just not moving in the direction I needed it to.
And it was because of me.
My business was getting the last of me. It wasn’t on my priority list at all.
I wasn’t bringing the energy, the life force, the power, the passion my business needed in order to really build momentum. I was so focused on other elements of my life that needed me. But also, I was still living in a version of me that was scared to do what I tell people to do: Show up, be seen and shine.
Because of all of the chaos in the background, I only recently started to feel the difference that The Money Methods brought into my life.
But in living the methods and applying the practical applications provided as an adjunct to them, I changed.
My inner world completely changed.
For once in my life, I felt peace. And I could hold it.
For once in my life, I understood what it meant to truly feel abundant within myself. And I wasn’t bullshiting myself about that.
For once in my life, external noise and ego chatter didn’t derail me. I stood strong in my power and stayed in it.
The days of betraying myself, abandoning myself, doubting myself or negotiating with myself are over. They’re simply done. And that’s because my energy is too precious. I finally see how precious I am, how precious my time and presence and being is. And because of this, I don’t have to over-do anything anymore. I don’t have to over-do. I don’t have to overexplain. I don’t have to overthink or overanalyze or give any of my heart of mind to anything that makes me feel even the slightest bit less than who I know I am.
The methods have done their job. They helped me find me again. They brought me back to my essence in a deeper way so that I could call in and align with everything I desire. I’m finally free.
